Paperbag Goodies

I hope everyone had a pleasant Mother's Day. I know I did. All three of my baby girls made me something special and my darling husband got me some chocolates (my weakness) and a couple of DS games that I've been asking for. I felt so appreciated.

For my Mom, I made this love notes pocket out of a plain paperbag. I absolutely love to recycle everyday items and have it turn out so darling. Inside each envelope is a special message to my mom from myself, each of my girls as well as my husband. She was completely surprised and even shed a few tears. Such an easy and creative project, but I can not take credit for the idea. Unfortunately I can not remember the name of the blog where the inspiration came from. I used a lot of my scraps for this project: DCWV and Melissa Frances papers, doilies, buttons, bakers twine, ribbon, chipboard cutouts, glitter glue, felt flowers, paper flowers, crepe paper, cupcake liners, tags, stamped images, pearls, and so much more. It was so much fun to do!

Here is a close up of the front. I wrapped some crepe paper around the glittered frame for that little extra something...just love those touches!!
And here are the envelopes stuffed with all the "love notes". I used vintage printed images and tied them up with bakers twine and a vintage button. They just get tucked inside the pockets of the paperbag for presentation.
In keeping with the paperbag theme, I also made this little album using all my favorite pictures of the girls. I'm going to be teaching a class for my oldest daughter's Girl Scout troop in a couple of weeks on scrapbooking using recycled everyday items...my favorite thing to do!

I just took two small lunch style paperbags, folded them in half and sewed them together in the middle to get a six page album.
So, you don't always need to spend a lot of money to create something special for someone.
I'd love to see what you make!
Have a wonderful day!
Hugs,
M.
