A day at the office...

I've been busy trying to catch up after my week of vacation. I had some cards to make for friends and family. This one is for friends who just recently lost their son unexpectantly. It was a sad day, and it makes you appreciate the time you have with your loved ones.
This card was one I did on the spur of the moment. I had these spiral journaling cards from Making Memories that I hadn't used yet, and the rest is history. I really easy card to do.
Another spur of the moment card. This one took a little more planning, but I love the way it turned out. I used Making Memories paper with Fancy Pants chipboard shapes. For the flower, I used Oriental Trading Company's large daisy. They've got quite a large supply of scrapbooking products now.
This is my very first attempt at a criss-cross card. My daughter, Molly, and I did one together the other day. I was happy with the way it came out. I used Fancy Pants paper, die-cuts and ribbon, Making Memories chipboard, OTC large daisy and a little "cherish" charm from Joann's.

Thanks for looking! Have a wonderful day!

Not the ocean!

During our vacation, my sister and I took the kids (my three girls and her two boys) to the beach. The ocean isn't very far from where we live, but it's still way too cold for my taste, so we brought them to Range Pond. I'm not sure why they call it a pond because it's more like a HUGE lake with a nice sandy beach. Here are my darling daughters carrying up water for the sand castle they all decided to make.

My oldest, Molly, was in charge of the actual construction of the castle, so she sat on the towel while everyone else brought her the necessary water to make it all stick together. I'm still not sure why they didn't build it closer to the water, but to each his own.

Here is my nephew, Kade, doing his part for the sand castle. They never did finish it though. They got hot and lost interest. Such short attention spans *giggle*.

My youngest, Mackenzie, floating like a pro on her little pink innertube. She just graduated to putting her face in the water. Before, she would get all wet except for her head. I just adore her to pieces. They grow up way too fast!

This is my youngest nephew, Kolby. He's such a peach. He wasn't interested in building the sand castle, so he found some other children to swim with for most of the day. Usually he's playing by himself...he's quite the loner. Here he is ... well, I'm honestly not sure what he's doing, but I found it funny and took his picture.
I love making these sorts of memories. It was a great vacation, but it certainly didn't last long enough!

Week of fun...

My sister and I took the kids to all sorts of fun places this past week. We couldn't have asked for better weather. It was hazy, hot and humid the entire week...a far cry from the dreary rain we've had. This is a picture of my sister with Madison and Kolby on the teacups at Funtown/Splashtown . I don't do rides that go round and round. Give me a rollercoaster anyday!

My oldest, Molly, and my nephew Kade waiting impatiently for the little ones to get off one of the kiddie rides. Molly didn't want her picture taken, but as you can see, I didn't listen...giggle.

Here is Madison driving Miss Daisy...me and Mackenzie rather...around the park.

My youngest, Kenzie, on the merry-go-round. She was so good that day. She never once complained about being hot or tired...unlike the other four!

We also took the kids to Land's End-Bailey Island. It's a nice little spot where you can dip your toes in the ocean and look for seashells. We walked around on the rocks for a while then sat down and had a little picnic.

I was able to get a lot of nice pictures that I'll be able to scrap at a later date. We also made lots of nice memories to cherish for years to come. I'll share some more pics of our adventures at Palace Playland and Range Pond tomorrow.

Have a great day!
